Linguistic cymatics!

Hi folks, my name is Jess and I'm a communication/linguistics major in New Zealand. I'm fascinated by cymatics, and I notice all the videos I've seen have been of consistent sound changing in frequency, or short musical examples, I've not seen anything patterning more aperiodic sound like speech (or other 'disharmonious' sounds such as jet engines, a tea kettle, etc).

Does anyone know or have any theories on how these sorts of sound patterns, but language especially, might present?

Any ideas how one might go setting up something to test this? I'm not savvy with electronics - an upturned speaker with a fluid material layered on top?

the patterns are completely in sync with the sound being made - this is an ongoing project of mine, (you can't hear the sound in this particular video because it is based on The Seeing Ear) I can give you more info if this interests you :)
